The acronym IELTS stands for International English Language Testing System

It is designed to assess the language ability of candidates who need to study or work where English is the language of communication. It is not considered suitable for candidates under 16 years old. Many academic institutions, employers and immigration authorities require you to have a certain IELTS score before your application is accepted.

There are two (2) important modules that most candidates enroll for from time to time. The Academic and General Training Module

It is important that you choose the correct test on your application form. The institution or agency that will be receiving your scores will tell you which exam to take. If you are planning on taking an undergraduate or postgraduate course at an English college or university, you should take the Academic module. You might also need to take the Academic exam if you are taking the IELTS for professional purposes. Check out your organization to find out what its requirements are.

It depends on your interest, the General Training exam tests the English language communication skills or general communication skills that are needed for those who want to live and work in English-speaking countries. Although the Reading and Writing modules of the Academic exam measure the candidate’s ability to function in a higher educational institution, a range of educational institution.

Each institution sets its own score requirements. The IELTS test takes about 2 hours and 45 minutes to complete. The Listening, Reading and Writing modules are taken in one sitting.

You cannot pass or fail the IELTS exam. The test is scored on a band scale. A band is a level of ability. In each section, you can score anywhere from a band of 0 (non user) to a band of 9 (expert user).

After the exam registration, we will automatically create a skype ID for you, which will enable you attend all classes online at agreed time between you and your teachers. You will also need to buy our study materials/textbooks + CDs for easy follow up both during and after each class. When this is in place, you will be glad you ever dealt with us.

Yes. We have soft copy study materials (complete textbooks) for our registered students at no extra cost. We also have the hard copy study materials for sale at our bookstore. Note that it’s not mandatory to have these materials before joining our classes, as everything you need to pass the IELTS exam will still be taught during the training. Our students still have unlimited access to several study materials during their IELTS training at our centre at no additional cost.

IELTS for UKVI is a UK government-approved Secure English Language Test (SELT). It comprises of the Academic, General Training and Life Skill Tests. An IELTS for UKVI score can be used to prove your English language abilities in support of a UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) application. An IELTS Life Skills score can be used to prove your English Listening and Speaking abilities in support of an application for a UK family visa or settlement.

You can choose between the Academic or General Training versions of the IELTS tests. All candidates do the same Listening and Speaking sections. Meanwhile other sections in the IELTS curriculum include the Reading and Writing.

You should also be aware that IELTS recommends that your IELTS result is valid for up to 2 years and some organizations will only accept your result if it is more recent than that. So, don’t take the IELTS test just because it might be useful in the future.
If all you want is a measure of your own English ability, it is likely you will find a better and possibly cheaper alternative to the IELTS test.

If you have taken a paper based IELTS test, your scores will be posted online within 13 days after the test date. But if it’s a computer based IELTS test, you should expect score much earlier; between 3 to 5 days after the actual test date.

It may take up to 10 – 15 business days to mail the hard copy of IELTS results to individual mailing addresses.

Rest assured, there’s no passing or failing score. Score requirements are established by individual colleges and universities; check your selected schools to learn their required IELTS test scores. You will receive a score on each section (within a score band of 0-9) and a total score for the entire test after taking the average is within the range of 0 to 9.

The listening module is the first to be tested followed by reading and then writing. The speaking module is tested separately and you will be interviewed individually.
